When and where it all began

Ross and Noreen Edlund (pictured above, second from left / first row) founded Skillets Restaurants in 1995, in Naples, Florida.


They knew that going into this venture, that guests would be attracted to better quality food than budget diners and bland restaurant chains offer. 


“It was then and still is, our mission to create delicious, diverse, nutritious breakfasts and lunches for each guest every single day. Part of this driving force towards excellence comes directly from my wife, Noreen. She has a penchant for perfection and a terrific eye on details.”

This goal of excellence is comprised of four things - premium ingredients, always fresh, everything is scratch-made, and a passion to please.  

Premium Products

We use premium, thick-cut Smokehouse bacon, house-roasted (six hours) corned beef hash, fresh-squeezed Kennesaw citrus, carefully selected seasonal berries, our private label Guatemalan coffee beans, PG Tips imported English tea, dairy products locally sourced from the Daikin family-operated Dairy, and the best of steel-cut oats and grits.

A Heritage of Baking

Ross, a long-time restauranteur, cut his teeth in the bakery business. Today, Ross’s breads, scones, and biscuits are all house-baked using his very own recipes. Our pancake and waffle batters are also Ross’s creations and are made from scratch - never using a single ounce of premix.

Twenty-five Years Later

Twenty-five years later, our dedicated cooks, servers, hosts, and managers continue to provide guests with the most exceptional breakfasts and lunches in Southwest Florida.

Many members of our team - which we consider our extended family - have worked with Skillets as much as 20 years! Speaking of extended family, we consider our surrounding communities as a part of this big family. And as such, support community causes through fundraising and other initiatives. Skillets has a direct relationship with the Children's Advocacy Center along with additional, active involvement in the local communities we serve.

Giving Back

We give back directly to the surrounding community with the help of customers through our direct affiliation with Change For Children. The day after Thanksgiving, all Skillets locations have a small tree display where private cash donations go in Christmas envelopes, as well as a year-round giving box near the register at all locations. For each dollar donated by customers, Skillets matches it. These raised funds are used for seriously neglected and fostered children. It enables the facilities to provide clothing and counseling for the children.
